Job Summary


We are hiring an Account Planner for a client in the Palmetto, GA area. This role supports outbound shipment scheduling, documentation, and carrier coordination in the Shipping/Receiving Office. The ideal candidate has strong communication and computer skills along with prior shipping or receiving experience.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and document all outbound traffic

  • Contact customers and carriers to route shipments

  • Prepare shipment records, including Bills of Lading

  • Maintain pickup appointment information and pickup status

  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and specific carriers

  • Route and optimize carrier freight

  • Ensure customer shipment start dates, cancel dates, and DC dates are met

  • Communicate issues between customers/carriers and internal customer service, strategic services, and transportation teams

  • Ensure load planning accuracy for cube utilization and on-time customer shipment arrival

  • Coordinate with customer logistics departments and carriers to confirm adequate equipment on site

  • Prepare complete and accurate outbound paperwork

  • Maintain orderly files and shipping records for all outbound shipments

  • Research, pull, and communicate shipping documentation requests

  • Use a Warehouse Management System (e.g., PKMS) to build loads and track/update shipment data

  • Prepare commercial invoices for international shipping

  • Set up new customer accounts in coordination with internal teams

  • Request extensions for customer POs and communicate carrier/customer issues internally

  • Collaborate on customer chargebacks with deductions/claims and merchandise coordination teams

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Must Haves

  • High school diploma

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in distribution/shipping routing or relevant experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Word, Excel)

  • Ability to work with detailed information, analyze data, and make sound decisions
