Georgia wants to position itself as one of the best states in the country for the manufacturing industry. Right now, it ranks 10th in employment in that category according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle in a recent article titled White-collar jobs are harder to find in Atlanta. Manufacturers want to help fill the gap.

Jon Neff co-founded SKL’D earlier this year to help Georgia manufacturers connect with job candidates. Though he acknowledged a stagnant hiring environment this year in the wake of tariffs, he said there is still fierce competition among employers to fill higher-skilled roles. Those include mechatronics technicians and electromechanical technologists.
